    This former home residence of Prime Minister William Gladstone sits in the very heart of London, overlooking St James’s Park and the Mall, making it the perfect setting for business meetings, lectures, promotional launches and conferences. Much of the interior has survived from the early years of the 20th century, when the 2nd Viscount Ridley commissioned a significant French classical style remodelling. Today, facilities have been developed by the British Academy to make this Georgian treasure the perfect venue for private hire.


  • The Council Room

    This ornate room sets an impressive backdrop for meetings and training days. The rooms huge windows fill the space with natural daylight and offer your guests views of the venue’s stunning gardens.

    A space sure to impress any guest, the Council Room can accommodate 32 in a boardroom layout or 30 classroom.

  • The Mall Room

    The Mall Room is an exceptional, bright, double-aspect room overlooking St James’s Park and the Mall to the rear of the building. Major pieces from the academy’s art collection hang along its walls, as do gold chandeliers from a majestic corniced ceiling. However, the most enchanting feature of this space has to be the view from the windows.

    A deceptively large space the Mall Room can accommodate up to 70 guests theatre style, or 30 in a boardroom layout.
