The Business of Events: A Westminster Dinner to Remember
14 April 2025A Night of Connection, Conversation, and Culinary Excellence at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace.
On 31st March 2025, Searcys hosted The Business of Events: Westminster Dinner at the stunning 10-11 Carlton House Terrace—a prestigious gathering that brought together senior leaders from the events sector on the eve of the Global Policy Forum.
This special dinner offered a unique platform for meaningful networking and discussion, uniting representatives from key organisations including VisitBritain, VisitScotland Business Events, ICC Wales, IBTM World, RX Global, and more. With the support of MPs from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events, the evening reinforced the vital role of business events in strengthening the UK economy, driving tourism, and encouraging innovation.
True to Searcys’ legacy of fine hospitality, the dinner was a celebration of British culinary excellence. Guests were welcomed with a glass of Searcys English Sparkling Wine from Surrey, alongside a selection of beautifully crafted canapés: Wye Valley asparagus with summer truffle and pea cress, Parmesan craquelin topped with Ragstone goats’ cheese and red pepper gel, and Cornish crab and fennel tart finished with brown crab crème fraîche.
The meal continued with a London Cured smoked salmon starter, paired with the crisp Bolney Estate Blanc de Blancs from Sussex—its fine bubbles and vibrant acidity perfectly enhancing the dish. The main course followed with Suffolk free-range chicken, served with creamy potato gratin and seasonal greens, elevated by the smooth and elegant Bolney Estate Pinot Noir. To round off the evening, guests enjoyed a Searcys Gin lemon meringue tart, complemented by a glass of Bolney Estate Pinot Gris, its freshness providing the perfect endnote.
The evening was more than just a dinner—it was a statement of intent for the future of the UK events industry. With voices from across the sector gathered around one table, the Westminster Dinner was a shining example of how shared meals and shared goals can drive real progress.
A heartfelt thank you to 10-11 Carlton House Terrace and the exceptional Searcys team for delivering a memorable evening—and to every guest who contributed to conversations that will shape the future of our industry.
