  • Sky-high dining returns to Searcys at The Gherkin from Monday 17 May

    5 April 2021

Sky-high dining returns as Searcys at The Gherkin gets set to reopen its doors from Monday 17 May. Back with a bang, London’s original sky-high restaurant and bar will be launching with a new Great British Summer themed dining experience.  In a celebration of summer and socialising, The Gherkin will pay ode to the glorious British season in its restaurant on the top Levels 40 and 39. Set against the stunning London skyline and bedecked with summer colours, drinkers and diners can enjoy breathtaking views of the city alongside all-day dining, champagne cocktails, a limitless Afternoon Tea or Sunday Brunch.

Home to one of London’s first skyscraper restaurants, Helix at The Gherkin will be reopening on levels 39 and 40, providing a much needed high after months of lockdown.

Open throughout the week, guests can dine on new lunch and dinner menus, which champion the best of seasonal produce and celebrate ingredients from local and sustainable suppliers. Running from lunch to dinner, classic British dishes given a modern makeover include Searcys smoked salmon with crab and candied fennel, Coronation chicken terrine with spiced pineapple, and Fresh chervil gnocchi with sweetcorn velouté. Desserts celebrate the season with a Summer pudding served with mint crème fraiche and Citrus panna cotta.

Make moments together count by reuniting with friends for Afternoon Tea in the sky, served throughout the week from 3pm-5pm. Expect a selection of sweet and savoury treats, as well as freshly baked scones, served alongside a glass of Moët & Chandon, with a limitless option for £85.

Meanwhile, brunch hits a new high with a Sunday Brunch menu featuring the likes of Horseradish crumpet with avocado, gravadlax and spiced seeds, and Grilled Searcys smoked salmon with kedgeree, poached egg and crème fraiche, for £39.

To celebrate, The Gherkin will be raising a glass for a special ‘Toast to London’ gala dinner. Taking place on Saturday 22 May from 6pm, guests can enjoy a five-course menu paired with wines, priced at £119 per person (£149 with Champagne), featuring the likes of Isle of Wight tomato ceviche and Searcys beef and oyster pie, with a glass of bubbles overlooking the evening skyline.

Drinks will include a selection of champagne cocktails and botanical cocktails created by The Gherkin’s mixologists, as well as an extensive list of Champagne and wines.

For a more intimate experience, it has got to be bubbles in one of the Gherkin’s private dining rooms for groups up to six, with larger celebrations from 21st June. For uninterrupted views of the city, host private dinners, business meetings or small events in one of the five private rooms, with options for bespoke menus and event set-up. There is no better place to host a get-together in London.

The Gherkin by Searcys will reopen for seven days a week from Monday 17th May, with bookings now available online at searcysatthegherkin.co.uk/helix-restaurant/#book for parties of up to six people, adhering to Government guidelines and safety measures.
