  • Searcys Champagne masterclasses return to St Pancras Brasserie & Champagne Bar

    2 August 2021

Champagne is on ice as the ultimate masterclass of all things fizz returns to London post lockdown. Home to Europe’s longest Champagne Bar and known for its extensive collection of Champagne by the glass, bottle and magnum, St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar by Searcys is reopening its Champagne Masterclass for the first time in two years from 22 July, starting with Champagne Remedy, as part of Searcys Series of dinners, masterclasses, and experiences.

Guests will sip on fizz whilst learning about Champagne in a guided tasting, complete with paired seasonal menus. The tutored tasting will feature monthly Champagne specials, matched to a three-course dinner, all for £65 per person.

Proving Champagne is the best medicine, July specials will take inspiration from an early 20th century physician Arthur Hopkirk’s remedy “There is no finer pick me up…than good fizz”, focusing on bottles which have brought optimism and good spirits through past uncertain times. Champagnes will include the likes of Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut, Drappier Millésime Exception Brut and Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec, while the pairing menu will focus on seasonal British dishes, with highlights of Confit Herdwick lamb, goat’s curd, Heritage beetroot salad and Stone bass fillet, smoked haddock, West Country mussels and Puy lentil broth and samphire.

Leading the restart of the Champagne masterclasses, Searcys Drinks Ambassador Bruno Pelletier comments: * “As we move towards the end of lockdown, we recommend our Champagne Remedy. We have chosen to spotlight three well-known houses, which have also shown resistance in the face of adversity. From Bollinger, which produced an exclusive cuvée from post phylloxera vines, the only one left in Champagne, Drappier that salvaged its grapes from one of the worst weather conditions in 2012, to the Grande Dame of Champagne, Madame Clicquot, who built her Champagne empire against the odds.”

Upcoming masterclasses for Champagne aficionados to enjoy, include:
    • Thursday 19 August 2021 – All Rosé Summer *SOLD OUT*
    • Thursday 23 September 2021 – Harvest Time *SOLD OUT*
    • Thursday 21 October 2021 – Secrets beneath of the Vineyards of Champagne
    • Thursday 11 November 2021 – Merret or Pérignon? The End of the Battle

Tickets are available HERE. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. The Champagne Masterclasses marks the return of Searcys Series, a collection of masterclasses, hosted dinners, and special events across their venues.
