  • Searcys at The Pump Room in Bath is awarded Visit England Quality Food And Drink Award

    8 November 2021

We are incredibly proud to be recognised in this year’s VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Accolades for 2020 – 2021 that celebrate outstanding visitor experiences on offer across the country.

The winners have been awarded accolades based on the top scores gained in their annual Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment by VisitEngland. The 76 attractions are being recognised as a result of the exceptional experiences they provide visitors with categories including Welcome Accolade, Hidden Gem, Best Told Story, Quality Food and Drink, and the Gold Accolade for all-round top-scoring attractions.

Introduced by VisitEngland in 2014, the Visitor Attraction Accolades are available to members of the Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme who represent a wide range of museums, galleries, farm attractions, historic houses, gardens, churches, cathedrals, and country parks across England. The assessors are highly trained and experienced advisors on the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of customer journeys within visitor attractions.

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said, “I’m so pleased to see our visitor attractions back in the spotlight with these Accolades that recognise the amazing experiences available across the country. They also acknowledge the people who bring the attractions to life through their unparalleled customer service. They are the ones who make an attraction the most ‘welcoming’ and give life to the ‘Best Told Story’ while the quality of the attractions themselves are rewarded with ‘Quality Food and Drink’ and ‘Hidden Gem’ and of course ‘Gold’ for best all-rounders.

“Now more than ever, we need these attractions to encourage and remind us to get out and explore the amazing tourism on offer across England, driving recovery and economic benefits through the regions.”

On receiving the results, Penny Jenkins, Heritage Commercial Manager for Bath and North East Somerset Council commented, “We are delighted that Searcys, our catering partner at the Historic Pump Rooms, has been recognised for the high quality food and drink experience that the team offers visitors to both the Roman Baths and the wider city.”

Graham Plumb, Searcys General Manager at The Pump Room and Roman Baths added, “The award is a testament to the high standards our culinary, front-of-house, and support team has achieved as we have reopened the business in 2020 and 2021. Each and everyone’s contribution has been absolutely invaluable. I am so proud that VisitEngland assessment found that we truly deserve the recognition.”
