Searcys appointed in-house caterer at 41 Portland Place, a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in Central London
22 May 2024Today Searcys is announcing its appointment as the official catering partner at 41 Portland Place, the Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse venue in Central London which is set to undergo major refurbishment at the end of this month.
Conveniently located near Oxford Circus, Regents Park, Great Portland Street and Marylebone Stations, and close to the BBC Broadcasting House, the Langham Hotel and All Souls Church, 41 Portland Place is a stylish central London venue offering the perfect setting for conferences, press and product launches, dinners and receptions, parties, weddings and filming.
Rooms at 41 Portland Place can be hired individually or as a whole townhouse, a flexibility which enables guests to create a bespoke space, tailored to individual requirements. The option to hire the venue in its entirety also provides the unique opportunity for guests to enjoy a private Georgian house for the day, in the heart of London, accommodating everything from large parties and conferences to filmsets and photoshoots.
With high, ornate ceilings, antique mirrors, oil paintings, marble fireplaces, and large sash windows, the suite of period rooms at 41 Portland Place provides an elegant backdrop to any event. Meanwhile, the bright, modern meeting spaces provide a perfect location for contemporary entertaining, with minimalist interiors creating the ideal space for guests to stay sharp and focused.
The Wolfson Conference Suite is a purpose-built space ideal for discussion events, press conferences, screenings, and product launches, with an interconnecting green room for briefing speakers, and media interviews or to act as a conference office. This suite will be redesigned with high-tech AV during the refurbishment, to ensure the space is fully equipped to serve all corporate needs.
Meanwhile, the first floor and Terrace at 41 Portland Place is the perfect spot to enjoy a summer cocktail in the sun surrounded by olive and eucalyptus trees. This versatile space can be used for summer BBQs, corporate away days, and exclusive al fresco dining. After dark the space sparkles with candlelight and plants are illuminated by dramatic lighting so guests can enjoy the space long after the sun has set.
Paul Jackson, Managing Director at Searcys said, “It is an exciting time for this historic venue with its pending refurbishment, and Searcys is delighted to have been appointed 41 Portland Place specialist catering partner. Searcys has been a part of London’s hospitality scene for over 175 years, and our appreciation for heritage and legacy sits in perfect synergy with the stunning Georgian Townhouse. We look forward to partnering with 41 Portland Place to create unforgettable moments for guests, no matter what the occasion.”
The team at 41 Portland Place is taking event enquiries throughout the summer, with a freshly refurbished venue due to reopen on 16th September 2024 in time for the Christmas party season.
41 Portland Place is the headquarters building of the Academy of Medical Sciences, whose vision is good health for all supported by the best research and evidence. Profits generated from event hire and catering at the venue fund projects and programmes to deliver their mission to improve the health of people everywhere.
