  • The Coronation of King Charles III: A Royally Good Time at Searcys

    14 April 2023

    • CELEBRATE WITH SEARCYS

To mark the Coronation of the King, join us for a host of coronation celebrations across our restaurants, champagne bars and events venues.

Hosting celebrations for over 175 years, including the coronations of Edward VII, George V, George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, expect a host of exciting experiences across the weekend and beyond, including decadent champagne masterclasses and a regal concert by the London Chamber Orchestra, with a side of Searcys Afternoon Tea.

      Did you know?

Coronations are something Searcys is accustomed to and have been in business for four of them, Edward VII, George V and George VI – but the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in June 1953 was one of the busiest periods in Searcys’ history. For three nights and two days leading up to the day of the coronation, Searcys lorries were making the rounds of houses on the procession route, delivering lunches, teas and cocktails for the numerous parties held to watch the great event. Every order was delivered on time, complete with cutlery, china, glass and linen, but the trouble began when the Hire Department tried to collect the equipment the next day. The traffic congestion caused by the crowds who came to view the decorations was so great that it became virtually impossible to collect as so many celebratory lunches and dinners were taking place.

We are thrilled to offer an array of celebratory experiences to mark this momentous occasion in history. Indulge in Searcys Afternoon Tea, accompanied by a performance by the esteemed London Chamber Orchestra. Sip on Champagne with Globe Trotter at Burlington Arcade, and savour specially crafted dishes available exclusively at our restaurants.
