Jenny Sunuwar, Searcys’ Events Executive Runs 175km for Searcys £175k Charity Pledge
10 February 2022Hi Jenny, tell us a little bit about yourself – how did you start your career?
I am a passionate and creative person, fascinated by the world of events. I originally come from Nepal and have had a decade-long journey from being a Server to Senior Sales and Events Executive for Searcys at the Barbican, alongside achieving three university degrees. When did you join Searcys? What do you like most about your job?
I joined Searcys in May 2019. Based at the Barbican Centre, I am a Senior Sales and Events Executive, and I get to plan weddings and social events in the beautiful Conservatory. Besides being part of people’s happy occasions, we have a lovely supportive team here, and that is what I love the most about this job.Which charity have you chosen, and why?
I have chosen The Hotel School because this charity transforms the lives of homeless and vulnerable people by teaching them hospitality skills, matching them to sustainable employment, and supporting them in their first steps into work. “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”- I have always believed in this quote, and when I learned Searcys supports this charity, I knew I had to support and contribute to the cause.Tell us about your charity initiative. Do you have a target to raise?
I am running 175km in the month of February to contribute to Searcys’ 175k charity pledge. My target is to raise £1000.Will anyone be joining you? What support would you like?
My uncle, an ex-Gurkha, will be joining me in the run, which is great because he is disciplined, and I will most definitely need that to reach my goal.To donate and support the wonderful Jenny and Hotel School charity, please click here.
