Far too many young people find themselves unhoused, unsupported and unsafe. Your support will go directly to ensure that New Horizon can continue to deliver vital services that will help young people experiencing homelessness to find a safe place they call home, improve their well-being and change their circumstances.
Sponsored by Searcys in celebration of our 175th the fundraiser takes place on 19th July 2022 from 6.30 pm at Searcys at The Gherkin.
For tickets (only £80 per person), click here.
How far will your £80 go:
- Could buy a sturdy backpack and sleeping pack for a young person sleeping rough; helping to ease the burden of moving between different areas and short-term accommodation options
- Could help give a young person the basic essentials, like fresh towels, clean bed sheets, pots and pans, needed to turn a room into a home
- Could pay for 1 hour of specialist counselling for 3 young people who have experienced trauma
- Could pay for travel and buy the clothes needed for 5 young people to attend job interviews
One of the beneficiaries of the charity shares, “When I first came to New Horizon’s drop-in centre, I was still rough sleeping in London which was hard. Coming to the centre I was able to get housing advice, food, spare clothes and a shower which was so important when I had no money and no other support. New Horizon helped me get into emergency accommodation and sorted my ID and I have somewhere safe to stay now.”
“We are delighted to receive the ongoing support from Searcys and are thrilled to be partnering again to hold our annual fundraiser! Last year’s event raised an astounding £26,000 through a lucky dip and live auction kindly hosted by Martin Dibben, our Trustee, and Jon Snow, our Patron. All funds went directly towards supporting young people experiencing homelessness in London to access vital services during the winter months.”
Fadzai Dzimwasha, Head of Development at New Horizon
The proceeds from this years event and auction will go directly towards ensuring New Horizon can continue to deliver vital services that will help young people experiencing homelessness to improve their wellbeing, change their economic circumstances and find a safe place to call home. Far too many young people find themselves unhoused, unsupported and unsafe. As we all emerge into the ‘new normal’, it is critical that we ensure that young people, especially those experiencing homelessness have all the support that they need to exit homelessness for good.
