A Festive Tradition at the Barbican

The annual Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season 2026 returns to the Barbican Centre this winter, bringing an exceptional line-up of classical, choral and cinematic performances to the iconic Barbican Hall. From Carol Singalongs and Candlelit Carols to Christmas with King’s College Choir, the programme offers something for every festive mood.

Brian’s Pick: The Music of Zimmer vs. Williams

While every concert promises to be unforgettable, Brian has already chosen his highlight of the season: The Music of Zimmer vs. Williams.

“As a huge film music fan, this is the concert I’m most looking forward to this Christmas,” says Brian.

“The scores of Hans Zimmer and John Williams have shaped some of the most iconic films of all time, and hearing them performed live by a full orchestra is always something special. As a long-time Jurassic Park fan, John Williams’ music holds a special place in my heart, but I think audiences will love experiencing the spectacle of both composers’ work side by side.”

Performed by the acclaimed London Concert Orchestra, this concert celebrates two of cinema’s greatest composers. Audiences can expect powerful and instantly recognisable music from films including Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Lion King, Gladiator and many more.
