A London Thing To Do by Rol Blunk

As Samuel Johnson once famously said, “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.”

We are delighted to be selected as one of the locations for Rol Blunk’s upcoming photo album on London ( www.rolandblunk.com) and share some of his breathtaking photography with you.  The photographer has been exploring what contributes to London’s uniqueness and has chosen Norman Foster’s 30 Mary Axe building, or ‘the Gherkin’, for its ‘swirling geometry and gorgeous harmonies’.

Born and brought up in London, Rol followed his early years of refining boarding school escapes, by studying at London’s Hornsey College of Art. Later, with graphics up his sleeve and a lens in his hand, he worked with the BBC, RSC, Design Council, V&A, the British Tourist Authority and lectured at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art. And now as a retired ski coach he’s naturally a lover of snow, as well as fireside fleurie, mountain hot chocolate, rampant Rodins, Truffaut and admits to an addiction to Gü. Back home he’s likely to be investigating London and Suffolk photography course locations or planning travel shoots. And when all is done, he’ll be snuggling up to his Nikon.
