  • Searcys 2024 in Numbers

    30 December 2024

Searcys has had an extraordinary year in 2024, with remarkable achievements across people, venues, and sustainability initiatives. As one of the UK’s leading hospitality brands, we continued to set benchmarks in service excellence, innovation, and social responsibility. From welcoming new team members and opening stunning venues to earning prestigious awards, let’s take a look at what made 2024 a year to remember.

We invested in our Searcys Stars for a brighter future
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and 2024 has been a testament to their dedication and talent. We welcomed 668 new team members and our team now represents 81 nationalities, making us a truly global family.

We’re always commitment to fostering long-term careers and professional growth, with
employee development remained a top priority – we raise a glass to the 68 team members that have received a promotion, and are proud to have trained 21 Mental Health First Aiders, and onboarded 10 apprentices alongside 2 degree apprentices. This year, we’ve also celebrated the achievements of 49 long-serving colleagues who collectively contributed an impressive 485 years of service, with individual tenures ranging from 5 to 40 years.

We supported two team members participating in the prestigious Gold Service Scholarship and successfully completed a Reverse Mentoring Programme for four senior leaders. We will continue nurturing talent and creating opportunities for our teams to grow together.

Through our partnership with the Hotel School, we employed 13 graduates across venues such as One Moorgate Place, 30 Euston Square, and the Royal College of Surgeons. This partnership underscores our commitment to giving back to the community by supporting individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in building rewarding careers in hospitality.

    We Championed Positive Environmental Change
Sustainability has been a major focus this year, as we launched our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, Second Nature. We hosted our first-ever Second Nature Summit, which brought together teams to champion sustainability initiatives across our venues. We were proud to recognise 36 Sustainability Champions for their efforts in reducing environmental impact and driving positive change and look forward to improving our results in 2025.

    We Expanded Our Footprint
This year we continued to grow with exciting new business wins and venue launches. We secured prestigious contracts at 41 Portland Place and Gray’s Inn, with the latter set to open in January 2025. Meanwhile, we proudly unveiled three new venues: Horizon 22, Surveyors House at RICS, and Searcys Brasserie and Bar in Westminster. These additions have not only expanded our portfolio but also reinforced our reputation for delivering exceptional dining and event experiences.

    We Delivered Memorable Experiences
At the core of Searcys’ offerings are its bars and brasseries, which delivered unforgettable experiences throughout the year. We hosted 46 ticketed events, welcoming 660 guests to themed evenings such as “Women of Champagne” and “History of Veuve Clicquot.” Horizon 22 Summer Lates drew 772 visitors to enjoy stunning views of London alongside a glass of bubbly. At The Pump Room, 60,000 Afternoon Teas were served, while the Portrait Restaurant at the National Portrait Gallery welcomed 56,000 diners.

The Bubbly Show was another highlight of the year, attracting 441 guests—a 16% increase compared to last year. The two-day event featured seven engaging talks, a sold-out Chapel Down Perrier-Jouët dinner, and 38 sabrages. We also showcased 25 Champagne Houses and English Wine producers – a true Champagne family!

We Poured 26,000 bottles of Searcys Cuvée Champagne
We continued to delight customers with exceptional beverages – this year saw the launch of our English Sparkling Wine and Searcys Cuvée Champagne, pouring 26,000 bottles of Cuvée and 11,000 bottles of English Sparkling. We’ve also been riding the trend wave, selling 1,400 bottles of non-alcoholic wine—a 33% increase from last year. The introduction of Champagne-to-go bags at St Pancras added a unique offering for travellers, with 209 bags sold. We’re sure someone had a good time this year!

    We won awards
Our reputation for hosting exceptional events reached new heights in 2024. Our venues earned prestigious accolades at the London Venue & Event Awards, with The Gherkin winning Best Event Venue (up to 300 attendees) and other venues like Inner Temple and 30 Euston Square earning multiple Silver and Bronze awards. Our newly launched Searcys Events, secured official catering listings at five iconic venues, including Waddesdon Manor and the London Transport Museum. This year’s highlights included catering for 1,300 guests in a single day at the International Investment Summit, hosting over 2,700 attendees at Guards Polo, and serving 6,000 canapés and bowls in just 1.5 hours at a Burberry and Aston Martin press launch.

    We’re always looking ahead
As we reflect on 2024, we are immensely proud of what we have accomplished. From empowering our teams and expanding our portfolio to achieving industry recognition and delivering unforgettable experiences, this year has been a testament to the passion and dedication of everyone at Searcys. We look forward to building on this success in 2025, continuing to set new benchmarks in hospitality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Stay tuned for what’s coming in the new year!
