Kitchen Porter
The National Army Museum welcomes visitors to learn about the Battle of Waterloo and all that being a soldier entails. The museum acts as a back drop for a variety of events mixing fascinating military artefacts with spectacular views of Sir John Soane’s Grade II listed stables and the Royal Chelsea Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Porter to assist the Kitchen Team in the day to day running of the Kitchen. As a Searcys Kitchen Porter you will play a crucial role in supporting kitchen staff by ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen areas, as well as assisting with basic food preparation.

Salary: £13.15 per hour
Zero Hour Contract
Main Purpose:
Our Kitchen Porters plays an integral part in ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the catering operation within the venue. They ensure all cleaning duties are carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible and acts as a support to the overall kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
· To be flexible to work in all kitchens, serveries, staff canteens and external reception spaces
· To ensure all areas of the kitchens and service areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, providing a clean and safe working area.
· To maintain all catering storage areas, ensuring they are always organised and clean.
· To receive, count, inspect and store goods and/or equipment and dispensing or disposing them to/from departments as and when required.
· To be involved with some food preparation and service when required.
· Report immediately any incidents or accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate
· Report any broken equipment to the Executive Chef/ Head Chef.
· Comply with all Company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations including human resources, sites rules, Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazardous in your workplace.
Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
