Searcys have an incredible new venue opening in one of London's most iconic, historical spaces this year and are looking for a Host to join the team.
Searcys are looking for a Host to ensure the smooth operation of the front-of-house reception. The role will be overseeing the reception, seating, and overall guest experience. The Host serves as a liaison between the dining room staff and the kitchen, ensuring efficient communication and coordination to provide exceptional service to guests. Additionally, they may handle reservations, manage seating arrangements, and address any guest concerns or special requests.
The role will be based in the newly refurbished Sainsburys wing at The National Gallery, and Searcys are proud to be working in collaboration with the World Famous, Michelin starred Chef Georgio Locatelli on this project.

The Host plays a crucial role in shaping the overall dining experience and ensuring that guests feel welcome, valued, and well-cared for throughout their visit to the restaurant.
Salary: £17,10 per hour including Tronc.
Working 5 days over 7
Gallery opening hours are 10-6 excluding Fridays that will be 10-9.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they arrive, providing a warm welcome and assisting with seating arrangements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's layout, table availability, and seating capacity.
- Manage reservations, including recording bookings, updating availability, and confirming reservations as needed.
- Monitor dining room activity to anticipate guest needs and ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
- Train and supervise hosting and serving staff, providing guidance on service standards, etiquette, and guest interaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the front-of-house area, including the reception area, dining room, and restrooms.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for enhancing the guest experience and maximizing revenue.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, hospitality, and guest service at all times.
- Previous experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in fine dining or upscale restaurants.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reservation management software and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including wine service and menu presentation.
- A professional demeanor and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
- Formal training in hospitality management or related field preferred, but not required.
