Searcys is for a Head Chef with presence. Flair. Authority. Imagination. Someone who can command a kitchen the way our building commands attention.

Working as a Head Chef for Searcys will require you to be an ambassador for this brand and deliver food that creates lasting memories on this prestigious role . As a Head Chef you will have the chance to create the finest quality dishes and deliver high end culinary experiences for our clients and guests. You will be based in the main kitchen amongst the brigade of chefs.

The Pump Room sits at the heart of the Roman Baths – all grandeur, chandeliers, history and Champagne energy. By day, we serve refined restaurant dining and one of the most celebrated afternoon teas in the country. By night, we transform into an unforgettable events space hosting glamorous dinners, private celebrations and show-stopping experiences.

As Head Chef at The Pump Room, you’ll take the helm of a talented brigade of 10 and lead one of the company’s most dynamic kitchens, delivering exceptional service across our longest average service in the company while overseeing a high-performing operation with an annual turnover of £2.5 million.

As Head Chef, you will be joining an award-winning venue proudly recognised with Gold at the Bristol and Bath Tourism Awards and Silver at the Taste of England Awards 2025, offering the opportunity to lead a celebrated kitchen known for excellence.This is culinary theatre in one of the most iconic dining rooms in Britain

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: £55K to £60K

Key Responsibilities

  • To oversee and assist in the preparation and presentation of all meals and service across Events.
  • To oversee, manage and lead catering functions.
  • Design menus that are elegant, seasonal and worthy of our setting
  • To assist training of junior staff
  • To liaise with key people in the team in order to plan for the provision of food in all areas
  • To place order directly with suppliers.
  • To ensure smooth running of daily operations which include ensuring no disruption to the pre-agreed menu offer.
  • Responsible to manage stock levels of that specific area including ordering when required as well as waste control.
  • Lead the culinary vision across restaurant service, afternoon tea and high-end events
  • Deliver flawless execution at scale – from intimate dining to large banquets
  • Minimum 3 years experience in people management
  • Pastry experience / passion preferred
  • Experienced in premium dining, luxury hotels or high-volume events
  • Takes the initiative
  • Excellent time management
  • Supportive / Team player
  • Demonstrate high level of organisation.
  • Passionate about British produce with a contemporary touch
  • To be willing to work the hours and the needs of the business
  • Level 3 food and H&S
