Deputy Manager
Searcys are looking for a Deputy Manager to join the team at the National Army Museum.
As a Deputy Manager you will be a key leader in the organisation, you will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations, driving business growth and ensuring the overall success of your team and on site Cafe Bar and Restaurant. You will have proven track record in strategic leadership and establishing a positive, nurturing, and inclusive working environment for your team.
The National Army Museum welcomes visitors to learn about the Battle of Waterloo and all that being a soldier entails. The museum has fascinating military artefacts in contemporary light-filled spaces, with spectacular views of Sir John Soane’s Grade II listed stables and the Royal Chelsea Hospital.

The Deputy Manager will be supporting the GM in overseeing events and on site Cafe Bar and Restaurant by creating and maintaining standards while driving sales and building relationship with the client.

8AM to 4PM
Salary: £35,000
- Supervision and Training - recruit, train, and supervise catering team, including servers, chefs, and support personnel. Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to maintain a high level of performance.
- Quality Control - monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations. Address and resolve any issues or concerns promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Logistics Management - Oversee the flow of events and on site Cafe Bar and Restaurant, including food service, beverage distribution, and guest interactions. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels working closely with the back of house and manager on site.
- Customer Service - foster positive relationships with clients and guests, addressing their needs and concerns. Handle customer inquiries, requests, and special dietary requirements with professionalism and courtesy. Be curious, solicit feedback from clients to continuously improve catering services.
- Previous experience commensurate with role
- Have a contagious passion for food and customer service
- You draw satisfaction from supervising, training, and supporting a team
- Understanding of delegation and influencing skills
- Excellent organisational abilities; high attention to detail
- Concise and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
