• We have partnered with Hit training to offer exciting apprenticeship opportunities across our diverse venues. We very much hope that our apprentices will stay on long term with us where our diverse range of venues can provide experience in cafes, restaurants, events and Corporate contracts. For existing staff we offer a range of opportunities for Chefs at all levels as well as managers and future managers. It is our intent to support our staff to develop their careers with us as well as gain external recognition – from Level 2 apprenticeships to degree level.

  • Kherunnisa Mulla, who works at one of our City clients, was initially attracted to the chef apprenticeship as she was interested in the varied nature of the work and thought this best suited her learning style. Her favourite things about working for Searcys are, “the team, who are really welcoming and helpful, that you learn something new every day and the responsibility she has been given.” Kherunnisa also hopes to stay with the company to gain more experience to eventually train as a pastry chef.

  • Onorcun Tepe joined Searcys at The Gherkin in October 2018 after leaving Hackney College and finding the apprenticeship online. Onorcun said that his favourite things about working at The Gherkin are “helping to prep for big upcoming events, the atmosphere in the kitchen due to the great people and having the chance to learn something new every day”.

  • Lucas Sharp enrolled in the apprentice chef position at Blenheim. The role attracted him as he thought it would be a great place to begin his career and to gain knowledge which will hopefully lead to achieving his Level 3 qualification. Lucas said his favourite things about the Searcys chef apprenticeship are “the people I work with, the satisfaction of learning and gaining knowledge from very experienced chefs and being given opportunities to experience other Searcys venues”.

  • Calum Pritchard is currently undertaking his Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship at The Treehouse restaurant at The Alnwick Garden. He was attracted to the variety of food served and opportunities for career progression whilst working for Searcys. Calum’s favourite cuisine is vegetarian dishes due to the creative possibilities.

  • Helen Skinner, who has worked for Searcys at Blenheim palace for just over a year as an HR advisor, has undertaken an HR apprenticeship alongside her role. Once completed, Helen will receive her Level 5 HR Consultant/Partner, which is CIPD accredited. Helen said, “Our Head of People Kate and the whole team have been fantastic, any question or query I’ve had they have helped me through it or pointed me in the right direction so that I can find the answer myself.”
