• Searcys’ First Year at The Alnwick Garden

    It been almost a year since Searcys arrived as the Official Caterers for The Alnwick Garden and we have been delighted with the feedback from our regular visitors to The Garden and new guests alike. The arrival of The John Searcy Bakery has been a popular addition, with the aroma of freshly baked bread and cakes greeting visitors as they arrive at the gate to The Garden. The JS Bakery is a perfect place for freshly prepared coffee and a meet up with friends or even a more relaxed business meeting over cake. There is a large window into the kitchen where you will see the chefs preparing and baking the goods.

    For those of you who love to bake and as an alternative to Christmas cake, we have included the recipe for the iconic Percy Pineapple Cake. The bakery love to make something really different so keep popping in to try the chef’s latest creations. You will also find the delightful Percy Pineapple cake freshly made in the bakery too along with a selection of homemade baked pies and pastries.


    Don’t forget to enjoy 10% off the bill when presenting your membership card across the site. What’s more, we are offering free tea or coffee refills Monday to Thursday in February and March 2020 in The Pavilion Kitchen or The John Searcys Bakery.


    We are also delighted to share that we have a new Executive Chef who is responsible for food across The Alnwick Garden. Rhys Faulkner-Walford is going to lead the culinary team along with new Catering General Manager, Victoria Watson. Victoria joined the team earlier this year, bringing an enviable background in food and drink operations. Her vision has already reflected across The Garden and her vast experience will make for a very enjoyable visit, ensuring that you are looked after very well.     7. 7. What would surprise people about you? I completed the Coast to Coast (120 miles) in 8 hours and 12 minutes
    8. 8. When did you know that you wanted to be a chef? I didn’t….I wanted to be a designer, but I had a summer job washing pots and was more interested in watching the chefs so by the end of the summer I enrolled in catering college.
