HR Advisor & Operational Trainer – Blenheim Palace

An opportunity has arisen for a HR and Operational Trainer to join the Searcys team at Blenheim Palace, on a full time permanent basis.
Situated in Woodstock – Oxfordshire, and surrounded by tranquil landscaped gardens, Blenheim Palace is a true masterpiece of 18th Century Baroque architecture. Home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

1. Role Overview:

This a great opportunity, which can offer variety and scope to grow not only the role but also your own development. Reporting into the General Manager you will play a key part of the Senior Management team at Blenheim Palace, as you will be responsible for supporting the team on site in ensuring that the below processes and procedures are followed:

  • Responsible for planning and forecasting casual/permanent members of the team; to ensure that we are staffed appropriately at all times and in line with our labour budget
  • Champion recruitment and selection for the site, ensuring that we recruit the right people at the right time
  • Manage the offer/contract process, ensuring that new starters receive an excellent and efficient welcome before joining the business
  • Ensure all new team members are inducted, trained and supported into the business
  • Implement all People Company policies and Disciplinary procedures, and support the management team with the delivery of this
  • Deliver accurate reports for the management team; absence, sickness, turnover, retention, disciplinary and grievance cases, training etc and support the team on plans of how to improve these results
  • Check and ensure weekly Payroll information is accurate, whilst ensuring any amendments are corrected
  • Effectively use our HR system to ensure employee information is accurate at all times
  • Train, coach and develop our team on HR processes and best practice
  • Ensure all training and development available is communicated to our current team
  • Support and deliver against key HR projects

In addition to HR duties, this will also give the successful candidate the opportunity to truly understand the business by being able to support the operations team on a day to day basis, through being a key part of the Site Duty Management team and delivering HR initiatives as per the agreed site business plan.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a confident communicator, who is passionate about delivering first class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to manage and prioritise your own workload, in addition to supporting the wider management team, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Previous experience within a HR standalone role within a similar industry/business is desirable or an individual who has operational experience with an interest and passion for the HR function.
