The Barbican is one of London’s buzziest and most creative spaces in London. Searcys cater and run events at the Barbican Centre whichrange from conferences, AGM’s, meetings, receptions and weddings to name a few.

1. The role:

We are now recruiting for a Head Chef that can help drive our food offer forward within the Meeting and Events business working alongside the Executive Chef.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivery of food for all meetings/events that take place. In addition to this, with your previous experience of running an events based kitchen, you will be accountable for the food production with a hands-on approach to support your team.

Due to the size of our Events business, it is important that the Head Chef implements and maintains strong processes to ensure that everything from food monitoring, budget/cost control, Health & Safety, Food Safety and training is organised and managed effectively and efficiently.

The ideal candidate for this role will have had experience as a Head Chef from within a Conference/Events/Hotel environment before. In addition to this, you will be passionate about creating fresh, seasonal and quality food to a high standard – both culinary and presentation. You will also have a strong understanding of profit margins, purchasing, budgets and food costs.
